Panama! パナマ！

”After passing through Panama Canal, we arrived at Balboa. The day started terribly with a call from a student at 6am, and my plan to de-stress by sleep was destroyed.... This is why especially walking in the jungle was so refreshing. Despite the heavy rain, I enjoyed walking in the tropical environment. 

パナマ運河を通過したら、バルボアに到着。ある生徒からの朝６時の電話から一日は始まり、数日のストレスを睡眠で解消しようと思っていた私のプランは、見事に壊されてしまった。でもだからこそ、ジャングルで歩くのが特別リフレッシュな気分になったのかもしれない。歩いているときの雨はすごかったけれど、トロピカルなところを歩くのが楽しかった。

As we went to the mall afterwards I noticed how much U.S. influence there was. I also learned that it was as late as 1999 that Panama Canal became Panama's, not the U.S.'s property. 

The city looked very poor, although Panama is now becoming one of the wealthier countries in Central America. "

その後、ショッピングモールに行ってみたら、アメリカ文化の影響がすごいことに気づく。お店とかお菓子とか食べ物とか…そこらじゅうにアメリカのものがある。

パナマ運河も、１９９９年になるまでパナマのものでなくてアメリカのものだったということもそのときに学んだ。

午後街へ行ったが、貧しい印象。でも、パナマ運河とかで、パナマも最近は中米の中では成長している国みたい。
