Birthday Surprise!

The night before my birthday and the arrival to Guatemala, my lovely GET family prepared a lovely surprise. At the dinner, they all came up and sang a song- an original song about me, which Tiev had written the lyrics and Patri made up the music too!
I didn't see it coming at all, and it made me tear up a bit....

At the meeting, they did the song again... and this time, Bekah kindly recorded it.
No one has ever made a song for me, and this song will stay with me forever. I am so lucky to have met these talented, inspiring, helping and kind individuals to begin with, and this surprise was just beyond what I had imagined.
I feel so blessed and happy whenever I even think about this song- and seeing it makes me happy every time! I wanted to share this on the blog as well, as it certainly became one of the highlights of the voyage.
The lyrics are below the video!

The Moni Song
In this song there is no harmonica
This isn't a song about Hannukah
It isn't even electronica
It's a song about Monica!
Moni Moni Moni Moni.........

We love to watch you sitting
working on your knitting
While we're getting fat on sandwiches
You're speaking in three languages!
Moni Moni Moni Moni........

This song might sound a bit funny
But that's because it's your birthday Moni!
Let's grab a Gin and tonica
and have a toast for Monica!
Moni Moni Moni Moni........
